– Deuteronomy 8:11-19
I was told these verses and warned when I took on the staff position in 2010. Lord, humble me again.

I am my own limitation.
God is beyond my limitation.
Your love is more faithful than the morning.
I am honored to be conformed to your son’s likeness. Thank you God.

“We are greatly concerned about the way we walk and talk and look, fearful lest we offend Him. Perfect love casts out all that when once we are abandoned to God. We have to get rid of this notion - “Am I of any use?” and make up our minds that we are not, and we may be near the truth. It is never a question of being of use, but of being of value to God Himself. When we are abandoned...
In the moment of authentic emotion, the calculation vanishes. We are transported above the reasoning work of the mind, and we experience feeling without reference to logical or practical implications.
A non-treasured Christ is a non saving Christ.

In the end the heart longs not for any of God’s gifts, but for God himself. To see Him and know Him and be in his presence is the soul’s final feast. Beyond this, there is no quest. Words fail. We call it pleasure, joy and delight. - john piper’s desiring God.
Psalm 38:4 “Delight yourself in the Lord.”
Because God is unique as an all glorious, totally sufficient Being, He must be for himself if He is for us. Matthew 16:1-4

Isaiah ‘s warning to king Ahaz. “If you are not firm in faith, you will not be firm at all.” Isaiah 7:9b
I believe the Lord has spoken to me through this verse. Faith is what will help his people go through the tribulation that is coming. Faith in the coming hope who is the king of kings and the lord of lords will anchor us in the midst of hardship and suffering.
Lord, I wait...
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly. —1 Thessalonians 5:23-24
When we pray to be sanctified, are we prepared to face the standard of these verses? We take the term sanctification much too lightly. Are we prepared for what sanctification will cost? It will cost an intense narrowing of all our interests on earth, and an immense broadening of all our interests in God. Sanctification means...
