Lord, I’m sorry.
Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. James 1:26
A convo today.
I’d like to call it a “drive-by-scaring”.
“I talk to so many people who go to the church where I pastor, and they tell me, “I’m just being really friendly and helpful. They know I am a Christian and when the want to know they will ask me.”
I ask two questions “Did you get saved because someone was nice?” and “Did you conclude from their kindness that Jesus is God, you are a sinner, Jesus died for your sin and rose from the dead as King?” The answer of course is no. They will just think you are nice. And then continue to walk in darkness.
You are not the gospel; Jesus Christ is the gospel. You are not Jesus; Jesus is God. Therefore you cannot live or show the gospel: you must proclaim it.”
- Harvey Turner
“A woman who fears the Lord is one who, despite her desire for a date, fears being far away from God more than she does missing out on a man who is easily fooled by her exterior.”
note to self:
Let the love of Christ control you.
Father, I’m aching for my generation.
I feel the anguish in my heart and all my thoughts are racing, I know that you are patient.
Even though nobody wants to give you praise
and people choose to blame you for all their troubles and pain.
I will stand in the gap for all the lovers and haters.
Stand in the gap for every single nay-sayer
that is living on my campus, who got it all backwards.
Will you please redeem this land and clean up all the damage?

THE PURPOSE OF INTIMACY WITH JESUS
by David Wilkerson
[May 19, 1931 - April 27, 2011]
The purpose of intimacy with Jesus is to have a revelation of the Father. If
your eyes are not opened to the Father, you have not entered into the fullness
of intimacy with Christ.
Jesus told the disciples, “You need a revelation of who your Father is. You
must be able to teach others, who are like sheep without a shepherd right now.
They think nobody cares, that they’re illegitimate children. So you must do
works as I did, speak as I spoke. They need to know they have a loving Father
in heaven” (see John 14:6-9).
Beloved, we also need that revelation. We must to be able to say to the world,
“Watch my life. Listen to what I say. See the works I do. It’s all about my
I imagine Jesus saying the following to them: “So, you want Me to show you the
Father? Just think back to the wedding of Cana, when I turned the water into
wine. That was was an expression of My Father. He was showing His concern for
even the smallest, insignificant needs of His children. He was showing He cares
about family, about marriage, about food for His children. That was the Father
at work! I’ve never done anything on My own, but only what He has told Me to
do” (see John 14:10-11).
He goes on, “Do you remember the feeding of the four thousand, and later the
five thousand? Those people had been without food for almost three days. You
saw how hungry they were and you asked, ‘How will we feed them?’ So I broke the
loaves and fishes and divided them up. You saw how the people grabbed at the
abundance of food. You remember all the baskets of leftovers.”
Why does Jesus say the Holy Spirit will bring all things to our memory? It is
so we can have a revelation of the Father. So we can replay in our minds every
miracle He has done in our lives — every deliverance, every wonderful work.
Jesus is saying through it all, “Everything I have done for you is an
expression of the heavenly Father — who He is and what He wants to be to
While meditating the Lord asked me, “Are you satisfied in my love?”
I then remembered in John where Peter was asked, “Simon Peter do you love me more than these?”
Lord, you know I don’t know much but at this moment in time, your grace leads me to say that I do love you and I want to love you more. I want to get to a place where You become my all and all.
Help me to see you more.
Let my life bring honor to you and you alone.
Give me eyes to see what you see today. Give me wisdom so that I may share life to those that are dead.
Better to be lowly and have a servant than to play the great man and lack bread.
